Justin Mabry enjoys a multifaceted career as a musician, composer, and educator. Justin is the owner of JM Music Design, LLC that provides custom music for Entertainment, Marching Arts, Advertising, and Film. Recent entertainment clients include Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Carowinds Amusement Park. Most recently, Justin was an award winner for the 2018 Horror Hotel International and Indie Gathering Film Scoring Competitions.
Having a love for performing, Justin is one of the founding members of 10-Can Percussion chamber percussion ensemble. He performs regularly with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, Brevard Philharmonic, Asheville Lyric Opera, and Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre. Justin participated in Drum Corps International as a member of the Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps in 2004, and Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps in 2005 and 2006. He also participated in Winter Guard International as a member of Odyssey Percussion Theater in 2008.
As an educator he has held positions as adjunct Instructor of Percussion at Brevard College and Mars Hill University. He is a featured clinician at numerous college and high school workshops and is an active adjudicator for several band/percussion circuits across the country.
He received his Masters of Music Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro under the direction of Dr. Kristopher Keeton and his Bachelor of Music Degree from Mars Hill University under the direction of Dr. Brian Tinkel.
Justin is an Alumni of Phi Mu Alpha, a member of Percussive Arts Society and North Carolina Music Educators Association. Justin is an artist/clinician for Innovative Percussion Inc., Remo Inc., Pearl-Adams Corporation, Grover Pro Percussion, and Sabian Cymbals.
